Earlier today, Amazon finally announced their own video game streaming subscription service, Amazon Luna.


Amazon Luna is another way to conveniently give Jeff Bezos even more of your money every month, whether you were planning to or not.

The service will cost $5.99 per month to start, although that may go up in the future, and it will allow you to stream video games to play on a bunch of platforms: PC, Apple computers, iPhones and iPads, and on your TV with an Amazon Fire TV stick.


You can't play games on Android phones and tablets, but that should be available in the future.



Amazon hasn't released a list of their game library yet, but they say it has over 100 titles and includes titles like Resident Evil 7, Control, and Panzer Dragoon. They're also partnering with Ubisoft to get access to a bunch of their games.


While you can use a keyboard or any kind of computer-friendly game controller to play on Amazon Luna, Amazon is of course selling a $49.99 Luna Controller, which looks exactly as cheap and crappy as you'd expect.

The Luna Controller looks less like a real video game controller and more like a vague outline of what a controller should be.


Is there any reason to buy this garbage controller? Not unless you're absolutely dying to play with a controller that has Amazon Alexa's software installed on it, so your thoughts can be monitored even more closely.

Amazon also claims their proprietary controller is milliseconds faster at communicating with a gaming device using Amazon Luna than other controllers.


That sounds like their way of threatening that if you don't buy their stupid controller with their stupid cloud gaming service, you're gonna have a bad time.

Considering Amazon Luna has no advantage over Microsoft's xCloud library and will likely contain pop-up ads shaped like Jeff Bezos' phallic bald head, this sounds like $6 you can save every month.
